Kick-off for the AI Academy

In two workshops, we will work with you to develop an AI strategy for your studies and career: How do I use AI correctly? What can AI do for me? And what can AI not do? The two workshops are aimed at students from all (!) disciplines. Students from LMU and other universities are welcome.

Both workshops will take place at the Literaturhaus München: 6:00 p.m. sharp until approx. 8:00 p.m.

The two courses can be booked independently of each other. Ideally, your German listening comprehension should be at around B2 level. However, you can also join in discussions and ask questions in English on site.

Artificial intelligence has long been part of our everyday lives—but do you know how it works and how you can use it yourself?

This interactive seminar series provides you with a practical, understandable, and well-founded introduction to the world of AI agents. Whether you want to work in research, business, media, administration, or NGOs later on, basic knowledge of AI and its possible applications is becoming increasingly important.

We offer this seminar series in cooperation with:

What you can expect:

The seminar series consists of seven modules that build on each other—but you can also attend individual sessions:

1. AI agents: Your gateway to the future
   You will learn about the different types of AI agents and where they are already being used in everyday life—from voice assistants and chatbots to recommendation systems.
2. JSON for beginners: Data made easy
   Data formats such as JSON are central to the exchange and processing of information in AI systems. In practical exercises, you will learn how to read, create, and edit JSON data.
3. Build your first AI agent
   This module gets down to business: you will develop your own simple AI agent step by step, supported by introductions to modern tools and development environments.
4. Data analysis with AI agents: Simply explained
   How can AI agents help with data analysis? You will learn basic methods of data visualization and analyze data independently with the help of intelligent systems.
5. Advanced AI agents: More power for your projects
   In this module, you will delve deeper into the technology, focusing on machine learning, training data, and adaptive systems. You will learn how to create and apply more complex AI agents.
6. AI and ethics: A responsible approach to the future
   Artificial intelligence raises many ethical questions: What are AI systems allowed to do? What should they be allowed to do? Together, we will discuss case studies and develop ethical guidelines for the use of AI agents.
7. Practical workshop: Programming a team of agents

What you bring:

• You understand how AI agents work—both theoretically and practically.
• You develop your own small projects and gain experience with AI tools.
• You strengthen your digital profile—a key skill for many professional fields.
• You deal with social implications and ethical issues.

Target group:
Students from all disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, languages, and economics—no prior knowledge required!
